Combating organised crime and corruption is a priority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its success depends on communication, coordination and cooperation among all law enforcement agencies in BH, as it was concluded by the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Goran Zubac and the Commissioner of the European Union Police Mission in BH (EUPM) Stefan Feller at their first official meeting on 29 March 2012 at SIPA’s premises.
The Director Zubac introduced the current situation in SIPA and the Agency’s priorities for the upcoming four years to the Commissioner Feller.
“The State Investigation and Protection Agency will uncompromisingly face the most serious criminal offences such as organised crime, terrorism, money laundering and other serious forms of financial crime”, said the Director Zubac and assured that the Agency will be the best service possible for all the citizens of BH.
The Commissioner Feller promised strong support in the Agency’s future work.
“I am convinced that SIPA, under the leadership of Mr. Zubac, will continue to combat organised crime and corruption successfully. Communication, coordination and cooperation within the law enforcement and criminal justice sector in the entire country remains an indispensable factor for reaching this goal. Without an improved cooperation within BH, the country will keep facing difficulties of integration in the area of justice, freedom and security of the European Union”, said Mr. Feller.
The Commissioner Feller took the opportunity to inform SIPA’s Director on the transition dynamics of the EU Mission into the Project for coordination of agencies’ work and law enforcement financed by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and into the EU Special Representative Office – Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Director Zubac thanked the Commissioner Feller for years of unconditional support of the European Union Police Mission to the State Investigation and Protection Agency in the form of numerous donations and trainings owing to which the Agency’s employees had an opportunity to learn from the best European experts and their extensive experience.
