Visit of US Secretary Passed off without Incidents

A two-day visit of the U.S. Secretary Hillary Clinton to Bosnia and Herzegovina passed off in accordance with the planned protocol and without any incident.
In addition to the officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency who coordinated all police activities in securing this extremely important visit, there were also officials of the Federal Police Administration, Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, RS Ministry of Interior, B&H Border Police, Intelligence-Security Agency, Service for Foreigners' Affairs and Joint Service of the Institutions and Bodies of B&H Federation.
Providing security to the US Secretary included securing her arrival at the Sarajevo International Airport, organising escort, undertaking physical and traffic measures on the movement route including counter diversion protection, operational measures, sanitary-biological measures as well as a range of other activities.
Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency including anti-sniper unit members provided immediate security to the US Secretary, conducted counter diversion inspections of the vehicles and routes as well as the facilities she visited (US Embassy Sarajevo , Presidency of B&H) and formed the so called security escort in cooperation with Sarajevo Canton MoI.
Members of the Canton Sarajevo MoI secured also the movement route of the American delegation as well as the building of the National theatre.
Federal Police Administration was responsible for external and internal security of the hotel of Hillary Clinton engaging the anti-sniper unit while the Sarajevo International Airport was secured by members of the RS Ministry of Interior and B&H Border Police.
Members of the B&H Border Police were tasked with protocol and reception of the American delegation at the International Airport while the security checks were conducted by the members of the B&H Intelligence-Security Agency.
During the 14-hour visit of the high level US Delegation to our country on October 12, 2010 there were two false reports of bombs in the secondary technical school in the period 9.20 to 10.30.
The State Investigation and Protection Agency as a holder and coordinator of the police activities on arrangement of security to the US Secretary on the occasion of her visit to B&H expresses its gratitude to all police agencies and other organisations for contributing to the safe visit and the citizens for understanding.
