USA Government Donated Police Equipment to SIPA

On 25 April 2013, H.E. Patrick Moon, the US Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency, whereby an official handover of the US Government donation to SIPA through the ICITAP Programme for BH was carried out.

The US Government donated police equipment worth more than $100.000 to SIPA and the formal takeover was carried out by Mr Goran Zubac, the Director of SIPA. The donated equipment includes high quality tactical and police uniforms for the Special Support Unit of SIPA and other specialised equipment (cameras, night vision binoculars, etc.). The Ambassador Moon said that he was very satisfied with the cooperation with SIPA, and that the US Government was aware of SIPA’s key role in combating organised crime, corruption and terrorism in BH. Mr Moon pointed out that SIPA was being more efficient by the day under the leadership of the Director Zubac.

The Director Zubac said it was his pleasure that H.E. Patrick Moon visited SIPA and pointed out that this was merely one in a series of donations from the US Government to SIPA, which proved that SIPA had gained substantial trust. Mr Zubac also said that these donations were proportionate to SIPA’s work and results and that the Agency’s goal was to be the best and justify the public’s trust by serious operations. He pointed out that the US Government was SIPA’s most important partner, providing the best global practices and trainings through the ICITAP Programme, which was reflected in the high quality work of SIPA’s investigators.

The Director of SIPA handed the embedded emblem of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA’s highest recognition, and the Certificate of Appreciation to the US Ambassador for his support in strengthening SIPA’s capacities.
