Tuzla Canton: Five Persons Apprehended for Tax Evasion, Six Premises Searched

On 13 June 2012, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended five persons in the area of Tuzla and Srebrenik for reasonable doubt of having committed a criminal offence of tax evasion, damaging the budget of BH institutions for BAM 12.000.000.

In searches at three business and residential premises, as well as vehicles in the area of Tuzla and three residential premises and vehicles in the area of Srebrenik, owned or used by the apprehended individuals, a considerable quantity of business and other documents was found, as well as USB sticks, computer equipment and other objects that might be used as evidence.

Out of five apprehended individuals, four were interviewed at the SIPA’s official premises as suspects and one person was apprehended by the end of the day. The apprehended individual, along with a report on the committed offence set out in the Article 210 of the Criminal Code BH (Tax Evasion or Fraud), Paragraph (4) in conjunction with the Article 31 of the Criminal Code (Accessory), was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office BH for further processing.

The action was carried out upon the order from the Prosecutor’s Office BH, in cooperation with officials from the Indirect Taxation Authority BH and the assistance from police officials of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior.
