Successful Cooperation between SIPA and Swedish Police

Yesterday (26/03/2015) – The official meeting between SIPA members and representatives of the Swedish police, with which a close cooperation was developed in the operation codenamed "Benelux", was held in the premises of SIPA.

To remind, in the international police operation “Beneluks“, police officials of SIPA arrested five individuals including a Swedish national and found an improvised explosive device, which was supposed to be delivered to Sweden. Three individuals were deprived of liberty in the border area and prevented from transporting the improvised explosive device, found in a vehicle, across the border.

The representatives of the Swedish police expressed their gratitude to SIPA members for their professional approach in this case, timely exchange of information and efficient and prompt response.  Timely and efficient response of SIPA resulted in deprivation of liberty of the suspects and prevention of delivery of the explosive device, destined to Sweden, on the EU territory.
Both sides agreed to continue the cooperation in the future.
