The Special Support Unit of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) carried out a demonstration drill at the Skenderija plateau, as a part of the „Days of Security and Protection 2009“.
Citizens had a chance to see a practical demonstration drill in which members of SIPA's Special Unit, upon notification, rapidly arrive to a passenger car occupied by two individuals suspected of committing a criminal offence, then they apprehend and transport them to the police with the Special Unit vehicle.
The citizens had a chance to spend some time with SIPA staff and see a stand with a portion of this Unit's equipment on display.
„Four years ago, when the SIPA's Special Support Unit was formed, it consisted of 20 members. They used to have drills in different uniforms and were poorly equipped. Today, this is an elite Special Support Unit, not only in B&H, but beyond, and the citizens had a chance to see a fragment of what they can do today“, said SIPA's spokesperson Željka Kujundžija, as published by the Federal News Agency (Fena).
