On November 17th, 2011, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior police officials apprehended six individuals in Kalesija, who were illegally transferred from the Republic of Serbia into B&H.
These individuals were hidden in a cargo area of a semi-trailer vehicle with Turkish registration plates, out of which goods were being unloaded at a private company in Kalesija.
Operational work of Kalesija Police Administration officials revealed that these individuals did not have identification documents with them and that they were most probably Afghanistan nationals.
The smuggled individuals were placed in the Asylum Centre, and the vehicle driver, Turkish national P.C. (DOB 1968), along with a report on the committed criminal offence set out in the Article 189 of the CC B&H (Smuggling of Human Beings), will be handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H.
