SIPA Women Police Officials Participated in 51st International Association of Women Police Training

Thanks to ICITAP coordination, women police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), active members of the association 'Women Police Network', participated in the five-day conference titled „Global Empowerment of Women in Policing“held in the period 22/9-26/9/2013 in Durban, South African Republic. The conference was also attended by a representative of Livno Canton MoI who is also an active member of B&H Women Police Network.

The 51st International Association of Women Police (IAWP) coincided with 100 Anniversary of the Police of the South African Republic. The trainings held during the conference covered different topics in domains of cyber crime, child pornography, financial crime, trafficking in human beings, terrorism, family violence, etc. from the perspective of global empowering of women in policing.

Objectives of the International Association of Women Police are the same as the objectives of the B&H Women Police Network and are related to promotion of gender equality and democratic principles in policing.

The conference was an excellent opportunity for women police officials to meet other police women from the entire world as well as to share and broaden their experience, knowledge and professional skills.

SIPA women police officials will continue to actively participate in the work of the B&H Women Police Network as well as others with the aim of expanding their membership and improving integrity and status of women police officials in the law enforcement agencies.
