SIPA Took Part in International Police Operation to Suppress Human Trafficking

As part of an international police operation against human trafficking, which was synchronously carried out with police authorities of the Republic of Austria and Federal Republic of Germany, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) searched a residential building in the area of Sanski Most last night aimed at detection and seizure of objects that may serve as evidence in further procedure. In accordance with the earlier agreement and work plan, the international operation was conducted in B&H, Germany and Austria and was directed against several individuals of Turkish nationality suspected of having perpetrated criminal offence of human trafficking and international recruitment for prostitution in the territory of the European Union.

Acting upon orders of the Court B&H and Prosecutor’s Office B&H, SIPA members searched the building used by the organised criminal group member in the territory of B&H. In accordance with the B&H Law on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, members of the German Police were present during the searches. The searches resulted in detection and seizure of objects that may serve as evidence in further proceedings. The found objects will be handed over to the Court B&H for further proceedings.

By taking part in this operation, SIPA has demonstrated once again that it is a reliable partner in the implementation of complex international police operations.
