SIPA - the Most Efficient in Combating Corruption

The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) is not only one of the most efficient institutions in combating corruption but is an institution which is least corrupt as showed by a research conducted by the Transparency International B&H (TI B&H).

In 2009, this international organisation seated in Banja Luka has been conducting every three months public opinion surveys on corruption and citizens' experience with regard to offering and taking bribe as well as the work of the government institutions.

According to the most recent survey conducted within the period from 10th to 24th October, 2009 across Bosnia & Herzegovina, it has been announced at the conference held December 9th, 2009 in Sarajevo on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day that SIPA is „the institution with the lowest level of corruption“.

„The State Investigation and Protection Agency, although the smallest and the youngest police agency in BIH, has employed all of its available capacities in order to prevent, disclose and investigate corruption-related cases. Asking money from citizens for a service which they are entitled to for free is a crime and those who do that must be held criminally liable.” said Mirko Lujic, SIPA Director.

Director Lujic called upon all citizens to share information about criminal offences that could be brought into connection with the corruption with the free and anonymous hotline Krimolovci 080 020 505 or web site www.krimolovci.ba.
