SIPA Seized 14.000 Pirated Image and Sound Carriers

On 23 April 2013, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), acting upon orders from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Prosecutor’s Office BH, searched buildings at several locations of the Brod Municipality, with the assistance from police officials of the Brod Police Station.

The searches were carried out due to a suspicion that certain individuals had committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 243 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Impermissible Use of Copyrights” and Article 244 of the Criminal Code BH “Illegal Use of Sound Recording Producers’ Rights”.
 

During the searches, 14.000 pirated sound and image carriers, 3.330 empty plastic boxes and other items related to the perpetration of these criminal offences were found and seized.
