SIPA Searched Facilities in Three Locations for Impermissible Use of Copyrights

Today (03/23/2016), police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) searched facilities in three locations in the Tuzla area due to grounds for suspicion that a criminal offense under Article 243 of the B&H Criminal Code "Impermissible Use of Copyrights" was committed.

Three copy shops were searched in the operation with the aim of finding and the seizure of objects that may serve as evidence in further proceedings. These activities were conducted on the orders of the Court of B&H and the B&H Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with police officials of the Ministry of Interior and Tuzla Canton.

During the search, 42 copied textbooks were found and temporarily seized, which were, without the permission of the author or other copyright holder, distributed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as CPUs, storage devices (USB) and other items.

SIPA will, as soon as possible, submit to the Court of B&H and the B&H Prosecutor's Office appropriate reports on the execution of the orders.
