SIPA Searched Facilities in Three Locations for Illegal Trafficking in Weapons

This morning (16/03/2016), police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) searched premises in three locations in the area of Tuzla, Teočak and Zvornik, with the aim of finding and the seizure of items that can be connected to the commission of the criminal offense “Illicit Trafficking in Arms, Military Equipment and Dual Use Products.

These activities were carried on the orders of the B&H Court and Prosecutor's Office at the request of the competent authorities of France for mutual legal assistance in the case relating to the smuggling of arms from Bosnia to France. The activities were conducted in cooperation with police officials of the Republika Srpska MoI and the Tuzla Canton MoI.

During the search, the following items were found and temporarily seized: documents, cell phone and other items that may serve as evidence in the proceedings conducted by the competent Prosecutor’s Office in France.

During the day, SIPA will submit to the Court of B&H and the B&H Prosecutor's Office reports on the activities and handover temporarily seized items. Questioning of four individuals, in the capacity of witnesses, is in progress.
