SIPA Searched Buildings at Five Locations for Illicit Trafficking in Arms

  

On Sunday, 8 June 2014, acting upon orders by the Court BH and Prosecutor’s Office BH, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), in cooperation with members of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, searched buildings at five locations in Tuzla and arrested two individuals.

The individuals N.J. and N.M. were arrested due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in Article 193 of the Criminal Code BH “Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use”. These individuals were prevented in an illegal transport of explosive devices from Tuzla to Sweden by a bus transporting passengers from Tuzla to Malme.

During the searches, explosive devices and other military equipment, mobile telephones, SIM cards and other items that could be used as evidence in further proceedings were found and seized.

Yesterday, on 9 June 2014, upon criminal processing, the arrested individuals, along with the report on the perpetrated criminal offence and perpetrators, were handed over for further procedure to the Prosecutor’s Office BH.
