SIPA Received Letter of Thanks from German Federal Criminal Police

Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) acted upon a request of the German Federal Criminal Police (BKA) and in cooperation with B&H partner security agencies to conduct checks in connection with attempted extortion from the Bayern Munich Football Club.

An unknown individual attempted to extort 3 million EURO from this football club by using bomb threats in the case of failure to meet his conditions. SIPA acted promptly, within its competence, and conducted the requested checks, which were crucial for the successful investigation and identification of the suspects and his apprehension. A close cooperation was established with the Liaison Officer of German Criminal Police in Zagreb.

With regard to the above, the German Federal Criminal Police sent a letter of thanks to SIPA which emphasised the prompt reaction of SIPA as crucial for the investigation. "On behalf of the investigation team leader we particularly thank to the colleagues from SIPA Sarajevo, who participated in this investigation”, the letter of thanks said, among other things.
