SIPA Operation on Suppression of Impermissible Use of Copyrights

On 14 November 2013, acting upon an order by the Court and Prosecutor’s Office BH, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) searched a bookshop in Brčko, owned by J.J., with the aim of detecting items intended for the perpetration or created by perpetration of the criminal offence set out in the Article 243 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code BH “Impermissible Use of Copyrights”.
These activities were carried out with the assistance from members of the Brčko District Police and Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior.
During the searches, a quantity of copied books by various authors, central processor unit and other computer equipment and items that might be used as evidence in further proceedings were found and seized.
SIPA continues activities aimed at suppressing the impermissible use of copyrights.
