Operation „Čarli“ in Progress
SIPA is Searching Facilities in 14 Locations in the Area of Cazin and Velika Kladusa

This morning (06/15/2016), police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) started operation code-named "Čarli" in the territory of Cazin and Velika Kladusa.
Activities are carried out on the orders of the Court of B&H and the B&H Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the B&H Indirect Taxation Administration and the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton.
Searches of the facilities in 14 locations are in progress as well as apprehension of a number of suspects due to grounds for suspicion that they committed criminal offense Organized Crime in conjunction with the criminal offenses: Tax Evasion or Fraud, Smuggling, Organizing a Group or Association for Smuggling or Distribution of Goods on Which Duties Were not Paid, Abuse of Office or Authority, Receiving Gifts and other Forms of Benefits, Giving Gifts and other Forms of Benefits and Illegal Storage of Goods.
Employees of the Indirect Taxation Administration and the owners of the shipping companies are among the suspects. They are suspected of having conducted illegal activities, a longer period of time, in connection with the importation into B&H of used cars, spare parts and other goods, avoiding paying VAT and other taxes, in order to gain illegal profit, which damaged the budget of B&H.
