The First Verdict in BiH for Illegal Formation and Joining Foreign Paramilitary Formations

SIPA Investigation Resulted in the First Instance Verdict of the B&H Court in the Case "Dam

The investigation of the police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) has resulted in the first instance verdict of the B&H Court in the case "Damascus", by which the three accused in this case were sentenced, yesterday (6 October 2015), to a prison term of seven years.

The verdict in the case "Damascus" is the first verdict in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the crime of illegal formation and joining foreign paramilitary formations.

After months of investigation, SIPA police officials apprehended suspects in the operation "Damascus" in February this year.

SIPA will continue uncompromising struggle against all forms of crime, with special emphasis on crimes related to terrorism and departure of B&H citizens to the foreign battlefields.
