SIPA Investigation in the Case "Brava II" Resulted in the First Instance Verdict

The investigation of the police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in the case codenamed "Brava II", conducted under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton, has resulted in the first instance verdict of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, pronounced in case of the person identified by initials HH, former director of the Correctional Facility Tuzla (CF Prison), who was sentenced to seven years in prison for abuse of office or official authority.

According to this judgment, HH will have to pay back approximately 190,000.00 BAM, unlawfully acquired through criminal offence or illegal employment in the Tuzla Prison.

HH was apprehended in the SIPA operation codenamed "Brava II", conducted on 4/16/2014, due to the grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence “Abuse of Office or Official Authority” in conjunction with unlawfulness in employment of numerous people in Tuzla Prison and business operations of certain organizational units.

Four more individuals were apprehended in this operation and facilities searched in multiple locations in the Tuzla Canton and Tuzla Prison. During the search, several cell phones and SIM cards, a greater amount of money in different currencies, laptops, storage devices (USB), a luxury motor vehicle, a firearm, a greater amount of business documents and other items, which were used as evidence in criminal proceedings, were discovered and temporarily forfeited.
