SIPA

Efforts made by Bosnia and Herzegovina in fighting illegal arms trafficking and smuggling, with a particular emphasis on activities of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), were presented in a French documentary on fighting arms smuggling. This film was broadcasted by “France 3” channel of the French national television, as a part of “Avenue de l’Europe” television show.

Scenes for this documentary were filmed on 5 April 2014 at the official premises of SIPA, at the main offices and Pašino Brdo in Sarajevo. SIPA’s Special Support Unit demonstrated a special operation tactics drill (vehicle breaching) for the documentary shooting, and the French TV crew also attended shooting exercises by the SSU members at a shooting range. An interview with a SIPA’s inspector who investigates criminal offences of arms trafficking and Commander of the SSU Anti-Terrorist Team was filmed for this documentary. In addition, photo and video material of SIPA’s actual operations was also used in the documentary.
