SIPA Hosts Europol Network Conference on Psycho-Social Issues in the Field of Witness Protection

State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) is the host of the 2nd Europol Network Conference on Psycho-Social Issues in the Field of Witness Protection, held on 11-12 November 2015, in the Hotel "Europe" in Sarajevo.

Seventy-seven registered participants, representing 31 countries and four international organizations, participate in the Conference. Officials of the SIPA Witness Protection Department as well as representatives of the B&H Prosecutor’s Office and the Court, dealing with witness protection in B&H, also participate in the Conference.

This is the first Europol’s Conference held in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is important for our country, especially in the context of European integration. SIPA is honored to host this Conference.

Dragan Mektić, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended today the opening of the Conference. He welcomed the participants and wished them successful work, pointing out that the Conference is a great opportunity to share different experiences in the field of witness protection.

Vahid Alagić, Head of the SIPA Witness Protection Department, addressed participants and welcomed them to the Conference, stressing that the SIPA Witness Protection Department is the only specialized department in Bosnia and Herzegovina which has been successfully providing protected witnesses with appropriate forms of protection and support for eleven years now. He said that the Conference is a good opportunity to share different experiences in this area with other countries.
