SIPA Found Over 80 Registration Plates of Stolen Vehicles

On 8/7/2014, in the operation coordinated with members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior and Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Interior, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) initiated activities on documenting a criminal offence of organised crime in conjunction with vehicle crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the framework of these activities, four individuals were arrested while the searches and inspections resulted in discovery of over 60 disassembled high-class vehicles of the latest production and three undisassembled vehicles suspected of being stolen by the members.

As a follow-up of the activities in this case, the SIPA members found over 80 local and foreign registration plates of passenger motor vehicles during the on-site investigation in a wide area of Sokolac on 11/7/2014. An on-site investigation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H.

SIPA identified 42 owners of the stolen vehicles whose registration plates were found and owners of nine vehicles whose registration plates were stolen, while checks for the rest of the plates are underway.

Activities in this case will be intensively continued, and the public will be duly informed of the final outcomes.
