SIPA Deprived Five Individuals of Liberty for Organised Crime in BUYER Operation

Today (27/5/2015) – Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) supported by the Sarajevo Canton MoI and other partner agencies searched movable and immovable property at 9 locations and deprived 5 individuals of liberty in the operation codenamed BUYER.

The individuals identified by initials AA (1972), IA(1944), AS(1971), ŠH (1951) and JŠ (1983) were deprived of liberty due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under Article   342 of the CC FB&H “Organised Crime“, in conjunction with criminal offence under Article 383 of the CC FB&H „Abuse of Office or Official Authority”, Article 273 of the CC FB&H “Tax Evasion”, Article 389 of the CC FB&H “Forging Official Document” and criminal offence under Article 252 of the CC FB&H “Concluding a Prejudicial Contract”.

The operation is preceded by months-long complex investigation, in which the illicit activities of the suspects in the company “Bosnalijek” are documented. The searches resulted in detection of documentation and other articles that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The individuals deprived of liberty will be brought to SIPA premises in Istočno Sarajevo for criminal processing, after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton for further procedure.
