SIPA Completed Internal Procedure upon Publishing Official Document Classified “Secret” in Media

After the content of an official document of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) classified as “Secret”, submitted by the Agency to the Prosecutor’s Office BH in the framework of the “Ozren” case on 21 August 2013, was fully published in the “Dani” Magazine on 17 October 2013, and then in “Oslobođenje” Newspaper on 18 October 2013, the Internal Control Department of SIPA undertook necessary measures and activities within its competence to establish all relevant facts and circumstances related to the publication of this document in the media.

After comprehensive checks by the members of the Internal Control Department of SIPA, it was concluded in the final report that such document was not made available to the media by members of this Agency and that it was duly sent to the Prosecutor’s Office BH.

With the aim of determining further important facts and circumstances in relation to the above mentioned, SIPA informed the Ministry of Security of B&H (Sector for the Protection of Secret Information) about the results of these checks and requested that they take appropriate measures and activities within their competences, i.e. initiate internal procedures at the Institutions to which the document was sent.

Furthermore, the State Investigation and Protection Agency, in line with legal provisions, submitted a report against an unknown perpetrator or several of them to the Prosecutor’s Office BH, on grounds for suspicion on the perpetration of the criminal offence set out in the Article 164 of the CC BH “Disclosure of Secret Information”.
