SIPA Arrested Ten Individuals for War Crime


This morning (16.12.2014) - Acting upon orders of the Prosecutor’s Office B&H, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested ten individuals in the area of Zvornik, Bijeljina and Ugljevik for war crimes.

The individuals with initials GM (1953), LJM (1962), RĐ (1960), SP (1966), MV (1971), VD (1973), GS (1967), CP (1952), RL (1946) and MM (1962) are deprived of liberty due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under Article 172 Paragraph (1) of the CC BH “Crime against Humanity” in the area of Zvornik Municipality during 1992 and in conjunction with Article 180 of the CC BH “Individual and Command Responsibility” and Article 29 of the CC BH “Co-perpetration”.

Searches of buildings in 12 locations are underway in the area of Zvornik, Bijeljina and Ugljevik to detect and seize items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings. The searches are conducted upon orders of the Court BH.

These activities are carried out in cooperation with Tuzla Canton MoI and Republika Srpska MoI.

The arrested individuals will be brought to SIPA premises for criminal processing after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
