SIPA Arrested Ten Individuals for War Crime

In an operation coordinated with MoI of the Republic of Serbia, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested, this morning, ten individuals for war crimes in the area of Višegrad and Prijedor. The operation was conducted upon orders of the Prosecutor’s Office B&H. The activities were carried out in cooperation with the Republika Srpska MoI.

SIPA arrested individuals with following initials LD (1951), BI (1972), OP (1971), OK (1963), PI (1960), RR (1969), MN (1962), VR (1950), DL (1960) and NP (1963) due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under Article 173 of the CC B&H „War Crime against Civilians” in Štrpci near Višegrad during 1993.

In this international operation, police authorities of the Republic of Serbia arrested five individuals in the territory of Serbia for war crimes committed in B&H.

Acting upon orders of the Court of B&H, SIPA searched buildings in three locations in Višegrad area aimed at detection and seizure of objects that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The arrested individuals will be brought to SIPA premises for criminal processing after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further procedure.
