SIPA Arrested Six Individuals for Vehicle Crime

In an action carried out in early morning hours on 27 January 2013 in the region of Herzegovina, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested six individuals on suspicion of having committed criminal offences of vehicle crime as members of an organised criminal group.

In searches at five locations, police officials of SIPA detected and seized several stolen vehicles, one of which was drivable and four vehicles were disassembled, as well as parts of stolen vehicles, forged documents for vehicles, mobile phones, SIM cards, fire arms (two automatic guns and a quantity of ammunition). Upon criminal processing at SIPA’s premises, the arrested individuals will be handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor’s Office BH, along with a report on grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 250 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code BH (Organised Crime), in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in the Article 216 Paragraph (1) of the CC BH (Customs Fraud) and Article 373 Paragraph (1) of the CC FBH (Forgery of Documents). This operation was carried out upon the order from the Prosecutor’s Office BH and Court BH, in cooperation with police officials of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Ministry of Interior and West Herzegovina Canton Ministry of Interior.
