SIPA Arrested Six Individuals for Illicit Drug Trafficking within “Zenit“ Operation

Today, 19/12/2013 – in a joint operation codenamed „Zenit“, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Zenica-Doboj Canton Ministry of Interior (ZDK MoI) acting by the orders of the B&H Prosecutor’s Office, searched eight locations in the area of Zenica – Doboj Canton and arrested six individuals.
The individuals with initials IG, EG, AS, SB, JI, and EŠ were arrested due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under the Article 250 of CC B&H „Organised Crime“, and in conjunction with the criminal offence under the Article 195 CC B&H „Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs“.
The searches resulted in discovery and seizure of around 600 grams of powdery substance resembling speed and mixtures for mixing drugs, small quantity of skunk, four precision scales, two pistols with six magazines, 91 pieces of pistol ammunition, several mobile phones and SIM cards and other items that can serve as evidence in further proceedings.
“Zenit“Operation is a follow-up of the operation aimed at suppression of international trafficking in narcotic drugs under which the police authorities of Republic of Croatia seized 3, 2 kg of speed and 7 kg of mixture for mixing the drugs smuggled from the Netherlands to B&H while the Austrian authorities seized around 300 grams of skunk smuggled from B&H to Austria. The individuals suspected of smuggling these drugs were deprived of liberty within today's activities of SIPA and ZDK MoI.
The arrested individuals were brought to the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency for criminal processing and together with the report on criminal offence will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
