SIPA Arrested Seven Individuals in International Operation against Drug Mafia

 
On 12 April 2013, acting upon orders from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Prosecutor's Office BH, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), in a joint operation with members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior and with the assistance from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Ministry of Interior and Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, searched buildings at several locations and arrested seven individuals.

The searches were carried out in Ljubuški, Livno, Čitluk, Stolac and Sarajevo. The arrested individuals are suspected of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina „Organised Crime“, in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in the Article 195 of the CC BH „Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics“.
 

These activities are being carried out in the framework of an ongoing international operation on suppressing trafficking in narcotics led by the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The arrested individuals are detained at the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency's Regional Office in Mostar, where they will be criminally processed and handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor's Office BH.
