SIPA Arrested Four Individuals and Seized Six Kilograms of Narcotic Drugs in Sarajevo Area

Today (4/8/2014) – Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested four individuals under the operation codenamed “Glečer” due to unauthorised production and trafficking in narcotic drugs and sized around six kg of narcotic drugs. 

The operation resulted in seizure of around five kg of herbal substance resembling “skunk” and around one kg of powdery substance resembling “speed”. Crime scene investigation was managed by acting prosecutor of Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office.

Searches of facilities at several locations are underway to discover and seize items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The individuals with initials MM, EZ, SK and SM were deprived of liberty due to grounds for suspicion of having committed, as an organised group, the criminal offence under Article 238 Paragraph (2) of the CC FBH „Unauthorized Production and Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs”.

These activities were carried out upon the orders of Sarajevo Canton Court and Prosecutor’s Office and in cooperation with Sarajevo Canton MoI.

The arrested individuals will be brought to the premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency for criminal processing after which they will be handed over, within legal deadline, to the competent prosecutor’s office for further proceedings.

The activities in this case will be continued and the public will be subsequently informed of the outcomes.
