SIPA Arrested Eight Individuals for War Crimes

On 17 October 2013, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), acting upon an order by the Prosecutor’s Office BH, arrested eight individuals in Rogatica and Pale for war crimes.

It this operation by SIPA, D.B. (DOB 1968), R.G. (DOB 1964), I.V. (DOB 1961), M.V. (DOB 1968), M.K. (DOB 1971), S.P. (DOB 1971), R.M. (DOB 1954) and P.R. (DOB 1963), due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 172 of the Criminal code BH “Crimes Against Humanity”, Paragraph (1) Item h) (Persecution), in conjunction with Items a) (Murder), d) (Deportation or Forcible Transfer) and i) (Enforced Disappearance of Persons).

These individuals are suspected of persecuting Bosniak civilians from several villages in the Rogatica Municipality, looting and murdering civilians in the framework of a comprehensive and systematic attack in September 1992, as members of the Republic of Srpska Military, armed with automatic weapons.

Upon criminal processing at the official premises of SIPA, the arrested individuals will be handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor’s Office BH.
