SIPA Arrested another Individual for Corruption in Koverta Operation

  

Today (24/07/2014) - As a follow-up of the activities in the case codenamed “Koverta” police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested one individual in the area of Bosanski Petrovac. Searches of two locations are underway to recover the items which may serve as evidence in the further proceedings. These activities are carried out upon the orders of Una-Sana Cantonal Court in Bihać and Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office.

The individual with initials FS is deprived of liberty for grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under Article 342 of the CC FB&H “Organised Crime” in conjunction with the criminal offence under Article 380 of the CC FB&H “Accepting Gifts and other Forms of Benefits”, criminal offence under Article 383 of the CC FB&H “Abuse of Position or Authority” and criminal offence under Article 382 of the CC FB&H „Illegal Interceding”.

Following criminal processing in the SIPA premises, FS will be handed over to Una-Sana Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office for further procedure.

As a reminder, the Operation "Koverta” began on 09/06/2014 and three individuals have been apprehended so far for organised crime and corruption-related offences, and one individual for attempting to influence witnesses.

The activities in this case are continuing and the public will be subsequently informed about the outcomes.
