SIPA Arrested 14 Individuals in “Bety” Operation

On 11 February 2014, acting upon orders by the Court BH and Prosecutor’s Office BH, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), in coordination with the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, in the framework of the operation code-named “Bety” arrested 14 individuals and searched buildings at several locations. These activities were carried out with the assistance from members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior and Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior.
The individuals Z.M. (DOB 1960), D.V. (DOB 1967), V.M. (DOB 1959), R.V. (DOB 1978), D.A. (DOB 1981), G.S. (DOB 1974), M.N. (DOB 1976), R.B. (DOB 1979), S.D. (DOB 1981), V.D. (DOB 1987), V.Z. (DOB 1986), A.Š. (DOB 1993), A.P. (DOB 1981) and J.M. (DOB 1978) were arrested due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in Article 250 of the Criminal Code BH “Organised Crime” in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in Article 195 of CC BH “Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs”, criminal offence set out in Article 205 of CC BH “Counterfeiting of Money”, criminal offence set out in Article 373 of CC FBH “Forgery of a Document”, criminal offence set out in Article 377 of CC RS “Forging Documents”, criminal offence set out in Article 381 of CC RS “Misleading for the Purpose of Certification of False Matter”, criminal offence set out in Article 238 of CC FBH “Unauthorised Sale and Production of Narcotic Drugs”, criminal offence set out in Article 29 of CC BH “Co-Perpetration” and criminal offence set out in Article 31 of CC BH “Accessory”.
In the framework of this operation, residential and business buildings were searched at 18 locations in Sarajevo, Istočno Sarajevo, Višegrad, Gacko and Trebinje. During the searches, a number of mobile telephones, SIM cards, external electronic data carriers, falsified diplomas and certificates, forms and other documents, an amount of substance resembling cannabis, precision scale and other items that can be used as evidence in further proceedings were detected and seized.
The arrested individuals were brought to official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency where they will be criminally processed and handed over for further procedure to the Prosecutor’s Office BH.
