SIPA Apprehended Three Individuals in Operation Codenamed “Kapak”

Today (10/6/2015) – Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), in the Operation “Kapak” in the area of Mostar and Nevesinje, searched premises in two locations and apprehended three individuals identified by initials TĐ (1965), IB (1958) and VJ (1978).

The mentioned individuals were apprehended due to grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence under Article 250 of the B&H CC „Organized Crime “ in conjunction with the criminal offence under Article 195 of the B&H CC “Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs”.

In the course of the apprehension, 500 grams of powdery substance was found with the mentioned individuals and temporarily seized, as well as other objects which may serve as evidence in further proceedings. The appearance of the powdery substance is reminiscent of the narcotic drug heroin.

The apprehended persons are suspected of conducting illicit trafficking in narcotic drug heroin, during 2015 as members of organized criminal group, for obtaining illegal property gains. At the proposal of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, after gathering physical evidence and confirming grounds for suspicion, the Court of B&H and the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H issued Orders for the search and the apprehension which were conducted today.

The apprehended persons will be brought to SIPA premises in East Sarajevo for criminal investigation. Thereafter, they will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
