High Ranking Police Official among the Apprehended Individuals

SIPA Apprehended Three Individuals for War Crime

This morning (11/17/2015), acting on the orders of the B&H Prosecutor's Office, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended three individuals for war crime in the area of Sarajevo and Goražde.

Individuals identified by initials EH (1958) and IM (1942) were apprehended due to grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence under Article 173 of the B&H CC „War Crimes Against Civilians” in the area of Goražde municipality, during 1992 and 1993, in conjunction with Article 180 of the B&H CC, and individual identified by initials AS (1960) due to grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence under Article 173 of the B&H CC „War Crimes Against Civilians” and criminal offence under Article 175 of the B&H CC “War Crimes Against Prisoners of War” in the area of Višegrad, Rudo, and Goražde municipalities, during 1992 and 1993.

Current high ranking police official and a former high ranking official of the RB&H Army are among the apprehended individuals.

The apprehended persons were brought to SIPA premises for criminal investigation. Thereafter, they will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.

SIPA and the B&H Prosecutor's Office will continue to work intensively on the detection and prosecution of suspected of war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law.
