SIPA Apprehended Six Individuals for War Crime

This morning (11/18/2015), acting on the order of the B&H Prosecutor's Office, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended six individuals for war crime in the area of Banja Luka, Prnjavor, and Kotor Varoš.

Individuals identified by initials SŽ (1957), AP (1970), MT (1960), JT (1949), NĐ (1958) and BP (1947) were apprehended due to grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence under Article 172, paragraph (1) of the B&H CC „Crime Against Humanity” in the area of Kotor Varoš municipality, from 1992 to 1994. These individuals are suspected to have committed the mentioned criminal offence by participating in persecution of the civilians, killings, unlawful detention, deportation, rape and torture in exercise of senior military and civilian functions at the level of the mentioned municipality.

Acting on the order of the Court of B&H, SIPA investigators searched premises used by the suspects with the aim of detecting and temporarily forfeiting items that can serve as evidence in further proceedings.

The apprehended persons will be brought to SIPA premises for criminal investigation. Thereafter, they will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
