SIPA Apprehended Seven Individuals for War Crimes

Today 27/12/2013 – Acting by the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended seven individuals for war crimes in the area of Rogatica and Sarajevo this morning. These activities were assisted by Sarajevo Canton MoI and RS MoI (Istočno Sarajevo Public Security Centre).

The individuals MŠ and AŠ and ZA were apprehended in Rogatica while IH, TŠ, AA and ED were apprehended in Sarajevo. These individuals were deprived of liberty due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence under Article 142 of the Criminal Code of SFRY „War Crime against Civilians“.

The apprehended individuals are suspected that they as members of the Army of RB&H, have committed the war crime against Serb civilians in Kukavice, Rogatica municipality in August 1992.

Acting by the orders of the Court of B&H, police officials of SIPA searched seven locations today in the area of Rogatica and Sarajevo and seized a certain documentation that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

After criminal processing in SIPA premises, the apprehended individuals will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of B&H for further proceedings.
