SIPA and US Secret Service Agreed Cooperation Modalities

Today (28/01/2015) – United States Secret Service representative Mike Dickerson visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA). Dickerson met with the SIPA Director Goran Zubac, after which he held an operational meeting with the SIPA Assistant Director for Criminal Investigation Department Anđelko Hrgić.

The meeting was also attended by US Embassy Security Attaché Kevin Murphy and US Embassy Investigator Ognjen Maslo.

Director Zubac presented recent results of SIPA and pointed out that the fight against terrorism is a priority of SIPA. He said that the future emphasis will be on strengthening the overall material, technical and investigative capacities of SIPA, in order to be able to keep pace with time and respond to all security challenges and primarily to act preventively. In this context, he particularly emphasised the importance of profiling investigative capacities and procurement of state-of- the-art equipment and weapons to the SIPA Special Support Unit.

Zubac said that SIPA is a sincere and reliable partner to the USA and thanked for their support in strengthening capacities of the Agency underlining that SIPA will produce results in return and be even more powerful in the future.

The operational meeting also discussed modalities and directions of future cooperation.
