SIPA and Tuzla Canton MoI “Brava” Investigation Resulted in Rendering Verdict for 14 Individuals

  

Investigation within the case codenamed “Brava” conducted by the State Investigation and Protection Agency and Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior resulted in rendering the verdict of the Tuzla Canton Court for 14 individuals, who were sentenced to prison in the total duration of 23 years and four months.

Within this case, SIPA submitted to the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office three reports on criminal offences and perpetrators against 14 individuals in total due to grounded suspicion of having committed criminal offences of illicit production and sale of narcotic drugs, enabling the use of narcotic drugs, abuse of office or official authority and illegal interceding.

On 29/07/2013, acting by the orders of the Tuzla Canton Court, SIPA members together with members of Tuzla Canton MoI searched 18 locations in the area of Tuzla, Lukavac and Živinice of which six were premises of the Detention and Correctional Facility in Tuzla. The searches were carried out to collect evidence in relation to the mentioned criminal offences. 13 suspects were deprived of liberty the same day.

In the course of investigations within Brava case, a total of 3, 3 kg of heroin and substances (mixtures) for mixing with heroin amounting to a market value of around 180.000 KM were seized.

The verdicts were rendered based on admission and agreements achieved between Tuzla Canton Court and indicted individuals.
