On the occasion of the media campaign aimed at improvement of search for missing persons in B&H, a meeting between the representatives of the SIPA’s Sector for Investigation of War Crimes and Crimes Punishable under International Humanitarian Laws and the International Commission of the Red Cross in B&H (ICRS) was held on 10 November 2015.
The media campaign is initiated by SIPA, who presented the activities planned under the media campaign, which is under preparation. The ICRS representatives pointed out that the ICRC, as a humanitarian organisation, is committed to the issue of missing persons and support to their families and welcomes the efforts of local institutions in B&H which may lead to clarifying the fate of missing persons and their finding.
„Twenty years after the end of the conflict in B&H, clarifying the fate of missing persons and finding their locations remain imperative as never before. Behind every name of missing persons there are families who still live in uncertainty, as they have not received the news about their relatives, " Željko Filipović, Head of the ICRC Delegation in Sarajevo, said and also welcomed the efforts made by SIPA in this area.
