“Sarajevo Marathon”: SIPA Members are not Ordinary Police Officials

On 18 September 2012, a Letter of Thanks was received at the address of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) from the “Marathon” Association, Sarajevo for SIPA’s police officials who ran a 21 km long half marathon, along with more than 330 participants from 18 countries, on Sunday 16 September 2012.

In a race organised by the “Marathon” Association, Sarajevo marking the International Car Free Day, three SIPA’s members achieved excellent results, in an extremely tough competition, by running a race lap in less than two hours.


 

SIPA Members Ready for Half Marathon They Ran 21 km in less than Two Hours

In addition to excellent physical fitness, the SIPA’s members attracted attention of other marathon participants and the citizens of Sarajevo with their shirts too, bearing the Agency’s inscription, and they received a Letter of Thanks from the organisers for their participation in the race.

“Your police officials, who ran wearing shirts with the State Investigation and Protection Agency’s inscription, sent a clear message to the citizens that they were not ordinary police officials and that they were physically fit enough to run more than 20 km without any problems”, is written in a Letter of Thanks from the “Marathon” Association, Sarajevo.

The 6th Sarajevo Half Marathon is the largest international event held in BH in 2012, with the aim of popularizing the International Car Free Day, as well as the idea promoting the development of a modern, dynamic and healthy living environment.

Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency will participate in future similar events and try to give a good example to BH citizens by their attitude toward environment.
