"Crime Stoppers" in September: 416 Calls and 27 Useful Information

In September 2015, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) registered 416 calls on the telephone line "Crime Stoppers".

During this period, citizens submitted 27 useful information on committed or planned criminal offenses and perpetrators, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports was made.

In addition, 30 reports were received through the electronic criminal offense reporting form, which was set up on the website of SIPA in February this year, of which 14 useful information on committed or planned criminal offenses and perpetrators, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports was made.

The majority of information related to abuse of office and illicit drug trafficking. Of the total number of information received through "Crime-Stoppers" and electronic form, 41 is forwarded for further proceeding to relevant police bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while SIPA acted on five information.

In the reporting period, 36 feedback from the competent police and other authorities were received, which were related to the previously submitted information, received through "Crime-Stoppers" or electronic criminal offense reporting form. Based on this, it was determined that acting on the mentioned information resulted in submission to the competent prosecutor's office of two reports on the existence of grounds for suspicion on the crime committed and the perpetrator.

In addition, SIPA police officials gave 127 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via anonymous and free telephone number "Crime Stoppers" - 080 020 505.
