Protection of B&H Buildings Taken Over by the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of B

After leftover military equipment and other material and technical devices were found within basement premises of the Presidency B&H on January 12th 2011, the majority of media linked police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) to the internal security of the Presidency building, its counter-diversion search, guard of the found objects, etc. With the aim of accurately informing the public, we would like to notify you on the following:
Physical and technical protection of people and buildings of the B&H Authorities, as well as diplomatic and consular representations in our country, in accordance with the Article 6 Paragraph (1) Item h) of the Law on the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H, starting on January 1st, 2011 is within the exclusive competence of this police authority.
Before the said date, the above mentioned activities were carried out by the police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), i.e. the Department for the Protection of People and Buildings, which was transferred to the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H at the beginning of 2011, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers B&H issued in September last year.
The police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, in accordance with the Article 3 Paragraph (1) Item 2) of the Law on SIPA, will monitor the security situation in B&H, collect notifications and data on committed criminal offences, and monitor and analyse the security situation and instances contributing to the development of crime in B&H.
