Prevent terrorist attacks!

In June, 2010, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 431 calls to the Crime-Stoppers hotline, out of which 128 were assessed as not serious.

In the aforementioned time period, citizens submitted 62 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

“There are radical groups and individuals in Bosnia and Herzegovina that can be used for carrying out atrocious terrorist acts such as the recent attack on the police station in Bugojno. If they are not stopped in time, terrorists’ next target can be a kindergarten, a school, public transport. Any suspicion, observation or information from citizens can help police in preventing potential terrorist activities,” said SIPA Director Mirko Lujić, thanking citizens on their calls and useful information provided through the Krimolovci hotline.

Out of the total number of useful information received in June, 48 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded to competent B&H police authorities for further processing, and 14 information were related to criminal offences falling under SIPA competence.
