Post-Blast Scene Investigation in B&H in European Standards

Upon successfully completing the training in „Post-Blast Scene Investigation“, police officials from the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), B&H Border Police, MOI of the Republic of Srpska, Federal Police Administration, and MIO of the Sarajevo Canton, are trained to carry out post-blast scene investigation in accordance with European standards.

From May 4th to May 7th, 2010, owing to the Embassy of France in B&H, fourteen police officials underwent a training course held by the French expert Fabienne Martinez at the premises of SIPA's Special Support Unit. Upon the completed course, they were presented with diplomas.

„Police operations are becoming more successful and B&H citizens recognise and respect that. By making this country safer, you are making your contribution to B&H integration on the road to European Union“, said the Ambassador Maryse Berniau to the police officials during the presentation of diplomas ceremony, promising assistance from France in the future as well.

So far, SIPA's police officials, with assistance from France, underwent trainings on sniper activities, special tactics and resolving hostage situations through negotiations. Upon an invitation from the Republic of France, several SIPA's police officials went to France where they obtained a rank of Professional Intervention Monitor, Professional Intervention Instructor and Commander of a Mobile Gendarmerie Squadron.

„These courses were of a great significance to the police officials in carrying out specific operational activities and complex police tasks so far, and for the safety of the citizens in our country“, said Marko Dominković, SIPA's Deputy Director.
