Pirated Material Factory Detected in Sarajevo

On March 25th, 2011, in a search of private premises in the Sarajevo settlement Stup, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials detected and seized around 20.000 illegal image and sound carriers, 3.000 CDs and DVDs, 52 CD burners and 4 computer units for their duplication.

Pirated Material “Factory” Detected Around 20.000 “Pirates” Seized

Against the owner of the detected pirated material “factory”, the State Investigation and Protection Agency police officials will submit a report on the committed criminal offence set out in the Article 243 of the CC B&H (Unauthorised Usage of Copyrights).

The action was carried out upon the order from the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, representing the continuation of activities related to copyright protection. We would like to point out that in 2010 police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency detected and seized around 112.000 pirated CDs and DVDs with an estimated market value of close to a million BAM, and 50.000 pirates were seized in 2011.

The State Investigation and Protection Agency police officials will continue their activities with the aim of prevention and detection of unauthorised usage of copyrights.
