PCC SEE Secretariat Representatives Visited SIPA

Today (22/10/2015) - Head of the Secretariat of Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe PCC SEE Ottavio Botteccia and Project Manager Katarina Lednik visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with Deputy Director Đuro Knežević.

The purpose of the visit was monitoring and evaluation of the project related to implementation of the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe. The Project is funded by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency and delivered under the Regional Police Cooperation Programme in the Western Balkan countries.

The purpose of the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe is to counter organised crime and serious cross-border crime more efficiently and effectively. The Convention represents a unique legal framework for comprehensive cross-border police cooperation between the signatory countries.

The meeting discussed implementation of the Convention in B&H so far and support to SIPA’s efforts in fighting the most complex types of cross-border crime was also expressed.  

As part of the project evaluation, the representatives of the Secretariat also interviewed a police official of the SIPA Operations Support Sector, who is a member of one of the working groups established within the framework of the PCC SEE implementation.
