Operation Code-Named “Bela” Continued – Searches at Three Locations

On 20 March 2013, in a continuation of the operation code-named “Bela”, carried out by police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in coordination with the Republic of Croatia Ministry of Interior against an organised group suspected of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BH “Organised Crime” in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in the Article 195 of the CC BH “Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics”, two searches were carried out in the area of Tuzla and one search of residential premises in Zenica used by individuals arrested in Croatia. During the searches, items were found which might be used as evidential material in a procedure against the organised criminal group, which is the subject of the investigation.

Within the joint operation carried out in coordination with members of the Republic of Croatia Ministry of Interior, ten citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were arrested so far, including one woman, and 40 kg of marijuana was seized, as well as other items that might be used as evidential material in the criminal proceedings.

Two more individuals are being searched for in relation to this criminal group.
