Munich: Danube Police Chiefs Conference Ended

SIPA's Deputy Director Marko Dominković and the B&H Border Police Director Vinko Dumančić, participated at the Danube Police Chiefs Conference (DPCC) organised by the Bavarian State Ministry of Interior and held on January 23rd and 26th in Munich.
The goal of the Conference was intensifying police cooperation in the Danube Region in the area of cross-border crime prevention, particularly corruption, organised crime, trafficking in narcotics, smuggling and trafficking in human beings, as well as the improvement of cross-border cooperation.
The Conference was took place as a part of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, which represents a new approach of the European regional policy for a territorial cooperation, and which attempts to harmonise and consolidate several European policies with the aim of sustained development of a particular macro-regional area. The cooperation in the framework of the Danube Strategy is elaborated through eleven priority areas, out of which only one is in a domain of police authorities work titled “Joint Analysis of Security Issues and Prevention of Organised Crime”.
The Danube Conference was attended by chiefs of the police authorities from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
