Members of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security Visited SIPA

Today (02/24/2016), members of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security, in the framework of the activities planned for 2016, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with the Director of SIPA, Perica Stanić; Deputy Director, Đuro Knežević, and Assistant Director, Jasmin Gogić.

Sifet Podžić, Chairman of the Joint Commission; Borislav Bojić, the First Deputy; Borjana Krišto, the Second Deputy, and Šemsudin Mehmedović, Hank Vajzović, Hazim Rančić and Mario Karamatić, members of the Joint Commission visited SIPA.

The meeting focused on all aspects of the work of SIPA, the results achieved in the work, legal solutions, staffing and material-technical equipment.

SIPA Director briefly presented the relevant indicators from the 2015 Annual Report on the Work of SIPA and program goals for the current year. He stressed that the fight against terrorism as a global phenomenon today and financing terrorist activities is the priority in the work of SIPA, as well as the fight against all forms of organized crime, and that SIPA will continue to work intensively implementing the measures and activities within its competence, in order to create safer environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He pointed out that SIPA is staffed and technically equipped to respond to the most complex security challenges of the present. However, he emphasized the problem of departure of a part of the management staff of SIPA for meeting the conditions for retirement, which is why he soon plans to fill vacant positions, for SIPA to achieve full capacity.

Members of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security of B&H expressed their full support for the work of SIPA and the achievement of its objectives in the future.
